Mr Shakeel on a voluntary basis, was nominated by his colleagues to run the treasury office of the Civil and Structural Association at the University of Bradford. He held this post for several years, setting budget targets which over his tenure moved the accounts into green. He left the association after he reached his main KPI of building six months of operating costs in the reserves as per the statutory guidance from the Charities Commission.
